Woman takes pills sublingually, under the tongue. She is wearing a white tank top in front of a pink background and has her mouth open, showing 4 pills under the tongue.
Sublingual = under the tongue

Sublingual administration of Misoprostol means that you put abortion pills under your tongue. For pregnancies 13 weeks and over, you take 2 Misoprostol pills at 200 mcg each. For pregnancies 12 weeks and under, you take 4 Misoprostol pills at 200mcg each.

You let 2 or 4 pills dissolve for 20-30 minutes. Afterwards, you swallow the remnants with water.

Taking abortion pills under the tongue can cause sharp and intense cramping. This is good in cases where you want your abortion to move along more quickly or if you have taken previous doses of Misoprostol and the contents of your uterus aren't passing.

REMEMBER: There are three ways to administer Misoprostol: Vaginal, Sublingual, or Buccal. Taking Misoprostol vaginally can be detected in the vagina for days after insertion. If you live in a medically or legally restricted area, use the Buccal and Sublingual methods instead.
