Abortion Integration:
healing after abortion
At Rouge, we are exploring new ways to connect, grieve, celebrate, process and heal our abortions—individually and together.

There is no single way to experience an abortion, and no correct way to feel afterward. An abortion may bring relief, grief, certainty, sadness, freedom, love, anger, transformation—or very little at all. Sometimes these feelings exist together. Sometimes they change over time.

Abortion integration is about making space for the experience and discovering what, if anything, it means to you.

Our feelings about abortion can become tangled with what partners, families, religion, politics and culture have told us an abortion is supposed to mean. Integration gives us space to return to our own experience: to tell the story, explore what remains, acknowledge what was lost or gained, celebrate what was chosen, or simply have what happened witnessed without judgment.
At Rouge, we create spaces for this on many levels.

Collectively, our Witnessing Circles bring people together to tell their abortion stories and be witnessed by others who understand.

Individually, our one-to-one Abortion Integration Coaching creates space to explore emotions, relationships, spirituality and meaning at your own pace.

Ritually, we offer practices for marking, releasing, honoring, celebrating and integrating an abortion in ways that are personal to you.

Healing does not mean believing that something was wrong or that every abortion leaves a wound. It means having somewhere to go when an experience asks for our attention.

At Rouge we create space for you to discover what abortion means, and what your abortion meant for yourself.
